The Tama S.L.P. Black Brass Snare Drum combines the power and projection of a 1.5mm brass shell with a deep 14" x 6.5" format, delivering a full-bodied snare sound with strong attack, rich overtones, and plenty of presence.

Part of Tama's Sound Lab Project (S.L.P.) series, the LBR1465 is designed around a carefully selected combination of shell, hoops, snare wires, and hardware to create its own distinctive voice. Its brass construction provides the projection and tonal complexity associated with metal-shell snares, while the 6.5" depth adds body and low-end weight.

Sound & Performance

The 1.5mm brass shell produces a powerful, responsive sound with excellent projection and a broad tuning range. Lower tunings bring out the drum's depth and body, while medium and higher tunings deliver greater crack and articulation without losing the characteristic richness of brass.

A 42-strand carbon steel snare wire provides a broad and sensitive snare response across the bottom head.

2.3mm Steel Mighty Hoops

Tama's 2.3mm triple-flanged Steel Mighty Hoops provide a balance between controlled tuning, rimshot attack, and an open shell response.

Finished in Black Nickel alongside the lugs and snare hardware, they complement the dark appearance of the Black Brass shell while maintaining the lively response expected from a triple-flanged hoop.
